MANN+HUMMEL goes IoT – Smart drinking water treatment at home

There will be a world premiere to marvel at at this year’s Pollutec environmental technology trade fair in Lyon from 10 to 13 October 2023: Mann+Hummel is showing the new state-of-the-art smart home solution Seccua UH15 for drinking water treatment at home for the first time at the joint Baden-Württemberg International stand (Stand H4 G070D). The IoT-supported generation of membrane filtration solutions for the home sector is designed for installation at the domestic water inlet (“point-of-entry”) of single or multi-family homes. Mann+Hummel is the first company in the world to offer membrane filter systems with extensive control and monitoring options via smartphone app.

The sensors installed in the Seccua UH15 provide information on the operating parameters, the condition of the membrane and the water consumption in the house. Via a smartphone app for Android or iOS as part of the product, consumers can thus obtain information about the device status of their ultrafiltration system at home at any time and from any location. The app alerts when critical values are exceeded or malfunctions are present. The effectiveness of the filter’s cleaning cycle can also be monitored and controlled with the app.

For the first time, installation and service partners can also proactively connect to the system remotely via API interface to perform analyses via reported error codes and to remotely maintain and adjust the system without having to be on site….

Like all Seccua membrane filters, UH15 significantly reduces bacteria (e.g. Legionella), parasites, viruses and turbidity from the central water supply or even private drinking water sources/wells in a purely mechanical process. The natural chemical balance of the water is maintained. Valuable minerals such as calcium or magnesium are retained in the water.

With optionally available additional filter media, the performance can also be extended to dissolved pollutants such as drug residues, hormone-like substances, pesticides, PFAS, solvents, plasticisers, chlorine, disinfection by-products and limescale deposits. This means you can enjoy hygienically perfect drinking water in the kitchen, bathroom and anywhere in the house without hesitation.
